1 The History of Rock is live on stage at the Coronation Hall this Saturday at 8pm.

The show promises to take you back through the golden ages, celebrating the very best of classic rock from Chubby Checker to Led Zeppelin.

2 Watch the Kendal Torchlight procession, which involves local businesses, schools, organisations and clubs in a parade starting from Kirkbie Kendal School at 7.30pm tonight.

Tomorrow from 10am the town centre will be taken over by a host of carnival arts performances and workshops. There will also be a live stage where there will be music acts, performances and the Torchlight trophy presentation.

3 Experience Taste Cumbria, the flagship food and drink festival this Saturday and Sunday. The festival in Cockermouth will include 80 stalls, a hot food court and a pop-up restaurant with one of the county's best chefs.

There will also be demonstrations from food and drink experts, a beer festival, comedy night, children’s activities and free town trails to help visitors explore.

4 Support local theatre and charities by watching the new musical The Playground. A group of children take on authorities when faced with the closure of their beloved playground, and show their caring and adult nature when refugees arrive in their area. The musical is written and composed by Barrow resident and musician Andrew Sproxton, directed by Barrovian singer and actress Yvonne Patterson, with Choreography and cast members from Shine Theatre Company. The show will be on tonight at 7pm, and tomorrow at 6pm at The Forum Barrow, and tickets are £10.50/£8.50 Concessions. Profits will be donated to local charities.

5 Cumbria Pride is taking place this weekend at Carlisle Castle. The free family friendly event will include music and entertainment by Heather Peace, Sonique, Janice Robinson, Cappella, Christopher Maloney and many more. A parade will start at 11am from the Civic Centre.

6 Bee Gees tribute act Jive Talkin, are performing in Workington this Saturday. They are the only tribute performers that have performed with the original Bee Gees. The show will start at 7:30 at the Carnegie Theatre, for ticket information call the Box Office on 01900602122.

7 The internationally acclaimed European Union Chamber Orchestra, directed by Alessandro Ruisi, with soloist George Todica playing Mozart's piano Concerto No 12 will be at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick. For information regarding tickets to the performance ring 01768 774411.

10 Led-Into-Zeppelin, the Led Zeppelin tribute act will be playing at the Odd Frog Tapas and Live Lounge tomorrow night. The event will start at 8pm. Tickets are available online from www.skiddle.com for the price of £4.
