BARROW Library are celebrating Banned Book Week this week.
This is part of a national campaign for readers and writers to celebrate the freedom to read.
Between September 22 and September 28, bookshops, libraries, schools, literary festivals and publishers are hosting events to celebrate.
The team at Barrow Library have put together a display of a number books which have been banned or censored in various countries across the world.
One book which has been banned was The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth.
The book was criticised for its offensive language, drug/alcohol use and gay sex, the story deals with a girl who is sent by her aunt to a “de-gaying” camp.
Anyone hoping to learn more about Banned Book Week should visit to Barrow Library.
