Mail readers react to man's plea to stay in Barrow:

Jill Park My son moved back to the UK with his American wife. He had his own house and worked full time to support them both and still his wife was told she had to move back to the States and start immigration from there. God knows how they decide who can and who can’t .

Leanne Park Johnson Jill Park it’s not made easy both ways is it, look how long it’s taken me over here.

Megan Chapman He’s a really lovely guy. Always stops to talk to everyone, he’s very neighbourly and will do anything to help anyone, his wife is also just as lovely and they are very much in love. All these negative comments are disgusting.

Emma Banks Megan Chapman they are just showing themselves up with the assumptions and negatively.

Beth Stoker This man is lovely he’s a good friend of mine who wants to live here and make a decent living I think he should get his visa to remain here he will help anyone out his wife also taught me in school and she’s a lovely person as well and will help anyone and she deserves to be happy with her husband here where that have made a life together.

Tracey Mc I know this couple and you couldn't be more wrong if you tried. He has worked hard to make himself a member of the community, he is very much in love with his wife and she him and I think it's shocking the way they are being treated.

Julie Maggs All of you who are saying Ousman should be sent home should be ashamed of yourselves. Him & Kath adore each other. He’s a wonderful man who I would love to see a permanent resident of the UK. I’m sure if he was white then it’d be a different matter. Disgraceful!

Phil Banner Julie Maggs Actually there are plenty of cases where white Americans etc are in the same boat. And while I agree its shocking, its nothing to do with skin colour.

Christine Davies So shocked and so sorry to hear of your terrible situation.
