A stretch of the M6 in Cumbria is reported to be partially flooded - with a thunderstorm bringing torrential rain to the area.
At about 10.30am a thunderstorm between J36 (Crooklands) and J40 (Penrith) led to patches of standing water on the carriageway.
Traffic was reported to be down to 40mph in places due to the conditions.
The Met Office is warning that the heavy rain will continue for the rest of the day.
