BARROW labour party members welcomed a member of the shadow cabinet into Furness this week.

Chris Altree, the Labour candidate for the next General Election spent a day with Danielle Rowley, the Shadow Secretary for Climate Justice and Green Jobs.

Mr Altree said: "Barrow is already benefitting from green jobs that Labour will put at the front of our climate agenda.

"We visited Orsted to find out more and talk to those working there. The Walney Extension, located in the Irish Sea, is the world’s largest operational offshore wind farm, generating clean electricity for nearly 600,000 homes."

They also visited Ulverston ahead of yesterdays climate strike to visit a packaging free shop, leading the way on a green future.

They also visited Coach House at Ford Park to see the garden they produce.
