CLOUDY skies and rain could not dampen a happy couple’s perfect day.

Former McDonald’s colleagues, Jess Dunstan, 26 and Louis Cochrane, 26 tied the knot, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

The pair first met at Parkview secondary school in Barrow, before working together at McDonald’s after leaving school.

Jess, who has a daughter, Holly, from a previous relationship, said: “It was really important to me that he got along with my daughter and I could not be happier that he has become the best dad to her.”

She described her husband, Louis, as ‘kind’ and ‘caring’ and said she could not imagine herself with anybody else.

The couple officially got engaged on August 6, 2017, before having their first son together, Archie, on August 23, 2018.

Jess said: “Archie and Holly were both a big part of our wedding day and they both had a lot on fun.”

The couple got married on August 6, 2019, which happened to be the anniversary of Jess’ grandparents’ marriage.

Jess’ grandma sadly passed away late last year, and so it was very special to both her and her grandad that she got married on that day.

The ceremony was held at The Chetwynde Hotel, which the couple described as ‘absolutely beautiful.’

They wanted to celebrate the day in a casual fashion with close family and friends in an intimate setting.

Jess said: “It rained all morning, which meant that most of the flowers were ruined but, fortunately, it had stopped by 1pm which was perfect timing as we got married at 3pm.”

She added: “About 50 guests attended during the day and about 70 attended at the night do”.

She said that her mother-in-law made the centre pieces and the cake, in addition to the bouquets.

The buttonholes were provided by the Little Flower Company.

Guests were treated to a buffet after the ceremony and pictures were taken by Barrow photographer Becky Lauren photography.

Jess would like to give special thanks to her maid of honour, Arianna, who helped make her day ‘so special’.

Jess said: “My maid of honour, Arianne, really helped me out and listened to me rant on the lead up to the wedding.

“Even though she was not my initial Maid of Honour, she really stepped up and made our day so special.

“I do not know what I could have done it without her.”

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in the luxury Castle Green hotel in Kendal.

Jess said that their stay at Castle Green was ‘so nice’, she wished she had her wedding there.
