AN outdoor sailing instructor sailed to victory in the blind sailing world championships in Canada.
Jonny Cormack, who works at Windermere Outdoor adventure Centre, returned home after defending his world title from the 2019 Blind Sailing World Championships with a gold medal for Team Great Britain.
Mr Cormack raced in the B3 category of the championships and finished second which helped bosst Team GB's overall place in the team category.
Mr Cormack, who first got involved with blind sailing in 2001, after initially working as a volunteer helping other visually handicapped sailors, said: “I’m very happy.
"It’s absolutely brilliant that we managed to defend our title and because we all have to work as a team, it makes it even more rewarding.”
