The A66 westbound, between Longnewton and Sadberge
THE A66 westbound carriageway is blocked following an accident.
Durham Constabulary confirmed that the carriageway is temporarily closed after a Ford Fiesta was understood to have crashed into the central reservation between Longnewton and Sadberge just before 2pm this afternoon, Monday.
No other vehicles were involved and the driver suffered minor injuries, police said.
The westbound side remains closed while recovery takes place.
