PARAMEDICS were treating a cyclist after he came off his bike in Darlington this morning.
The North-East Ambulance Service said they treated a man close to Elm Ridge Gardens, on Coniscliffe Road, after he came off his bike and CPR was administered.
The man was taken to James Cook University Hospital after being treated at the scene.
A spokesperson for the North-East Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 11.18am of a male patient coming off his bike.
"An air ambulance and two ambulances were called.
"The crew carried out CPR and started the patient's heart.
"The patient was then taken to James Cook A&E by road ambulance.
"A doctor from the air ambulance was among the crew that took the patient to hospital."
A spokesperson for Durham Police said they were called to assist with reports of anti-social behaviour and youths throwing rocks in the area just after 11am. It is unknown if the incidents are connected at this stage.
The road was closed whilst investigations took place but has now reopened.
