DOLLY Parton's 9 To 5 The Musical is the next highly anticipated Barrow Operatic and Dramatic Society show running at The Forum from Tuesday until Saturday (September 17-21).

Based on the 1980 movie of the same name written by Patricia Resnick, with a score by the queen of country herself, Dolly Parton, it tells the story of three downtrodden women: Violet, Doralee and Judy, who together make positive changes in their working environment and in their own lives. The three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss, concoct a plan to kidnap and turn the tables on their despicable supervisor. Inspired by the cult film, the hilarious production is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business and contains some scenes of a sexual nature. The BODS cast includes Sarah Carrick as Violet; Rachel Lucy in the role of Judy, and Doralee is played by Laura Thompson. Martin Craig plays Boss, Franklin Hart.

The BODS show is co-directed by Phil and Ailsa McIntosh, Chris Wadeson is musical director with choreography created by Sally McKimm.
