THE owners of a beloved pet have been left fearing the worst after their jackdaw Rex went missing three nights ago.
Six-month-old Rex is a beloved companion to Leanne Crossman, a volunteer at Bardsea Bird Sanctuary, and is a popular character in Dalton.
He regularly visits Dalton Leisure Centre as well as many of the Dalton pubs before returning home to Duke Street at night time.
Miss Crossman, 27, said: “We have hand-reared him since he fell down my friend's chimney and he always comes home at night to his aviary to be with his one legged friend, Ducky, who is also a rescue. He’s quite large for a normal jackdaw and very sociable and so somebody may have taken him home. I’m heartbroken and just so desperate to find him.”
If anyone does spot Rex please contact Miss Crossman via Facebook immediately.
