A CUMBRIAN substance abuse charity is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a special event.
Cumbria Alcohol and Drug Advisory Service will stage an exhibition on November 15 at Newby Bridge, celebrating its work in the county since its launch in 1979.
The charity is asking people it has helped to come forward and share their stories so they can be included in the exhibition.
Leigh Williams, chief executive of CADAS, said: “2019 is our 40th year and we want to celebrate this landmark by sharing some of the stories of success and recovery from our clients over the years."
CADAS has 16 staff and 32 volunteers at five centres around the county, including in Barrow, and provides advice and support to adults and young people experiencing problems with alcohol or drugs.
The anniversary exhibition will be staged at the YMCA Lakeside Newby Bridge, on November 15, then at other venues around the county.
