A MAN appeared in court charged with possessing a class A drug.
Patrick Alan Diamond, 28, faced charges at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine after being found with the drug on May 27.
Magistrates were told Diamond, of Dover Street on Walney, had a bag containing 2.2 grams of cocaine of 62 per cent purity in the Kings Arms pub in Barrow after being searched by police at around 9.15pm on the day.
He admitted to police the substance was cocaine.
The court heard he had previously served jail time for possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine.
Michael Graham, Diamond's solicitor, said the amount of drugs was consistent with personal use.
Diamond was fined £120 and told to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £85.
