THE brother of a man who took his own life after struggling with his mental health has launched a fund to raise money for his unborn daughter.

Sonny-Jay Woodhouse died at home on August 27 at the age of 28.

His brother Chris Woodhouse, who works at BAE Systems in Barrow, has bravely spoken out about his battle with his demons in a bid to raise awareness about mental health.

And Mail readers have also paid tribute to him

Sue Burniston How tragic more funding should be available to help these people that suffer. Love to his family.

Dave Jones So sad, I work with people who need mental health assistance to cope with their problems every day. It’s the same the world over, definitely not enough government money to give the help that’s needed. Sympathy with the family.

Janet Bury So sad for him and his family. Adults on the autistic spectrum are sadly neglected locally by the NHS. Mental health services just don’t know enough about autism to help. My own family members with autism have battled hard and it’s still an ongoing battle. RIP young man.

Kirsty Jepson Aspergers is often misdiagnosed as mental illness in so many people. I’m so sorry this man didn’t get the help he needed. Early intervention is so so important for anyone with an autism spectrum disorder. My deepest condolences to his family.
