TWO venues in Millom and another two within the surrounding area have snatched up top marks from the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
Whartons Garage Ltd, on Duke Street, and CK’s, on Market Square, both in Millom, have been given a 'very good' rating.
The national agency looks after food hygiene ratings across the UK.
Two other venues, Brockwood Hall, in Whicham, and Dower House, in Duddon Bridge, have also been given the highest-rated standards.
The scoring system goes from 0 to 5, with five meaning ‘very good’.
Each venue received top marks for hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.
Also rated by the FSA was St George’s Residential Home, on St George’s Road, also in Millom, which received a 'good' rating (4).
