ARRESTED: A woman has been arrested for assault
A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with an assault on a primary school child this weekend.
Police have confirmed a 42-year-old woman from Northamptonshire was arrested on suspicion of assault and released under investigation.
This comes after Cumbria Police appealed for information when a young primary school child was slapped in the face in Roanhead car park Barrow, at 3pm, on Saturday.
The attack was described as 'abhorrent' by Dalton Councillor Ben Shirley.
Councillor Shirley urged witnesses to come forward.
