A SOUTH Lakes charity is hosting a duck race to raise funds for the maintenance of an iconic building.
The Joseph & Eleanor Gunson Alms Houses Trust in Ulpha is hosting a charity duck race to fundraise for the property's running costs.
The Trustees of the house have been working over the last two years to bring the houses up to modern standards, with the latest refurbished house welcoming the newest resident on Sept 1.
The Joseph and Eleanor Gunson Almshouse Trust was founded by a will dated 25th June 1907 by John Gunson in memory of his parents.
The cottages were completed in 1914 and are for the benefit of people in need from across the South Cumbrian area.
If you would like to come along to the charity duck race, the event will be taking place on Saturday August 24, near Hall Dunnerdale from noon.
All are welcome.
