WELL DONE: Billy handing over the cheque for £497
A YOUNG campaigner has successfully raised almost £500 to go towards saving a beloved local pool.
Local residents held a number of fundraising event on August 18 to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the Grange Lido opening.
One fundraiser, Billy, aged 6, raised an £497.
He said he wants to swim in the Lido by his 10th birthday.
The money will go towards the £30,000 target to save the outdoor pool.
A spokesman for Save Grange Lido, said: "We would like to progress the Architects’ plans so every donation helps."
