MILLOM councillor Jane Micklethwaite was busy yesterday morning handing out awards as part of the town’s ‘In Bloom’ project.
The awards were handed out at Millom Library, which included Best Garden winner, which was won by Sylvia Denwood, second spot was William Wright and third spot was awarded to Lesley Pearson.
Best Forecourt was won by Norman Singleton, second place was snapped up by R. Burrow, while third spot was won by William Wright.
Joint first-place for Best Hanging Basket was won by R. Burrow and William Wright; Audrey Moore won third.
A spokesperson said: “Thanks to all who took part.”
In the other categories, the Best Business Garden award was won by St. George’s Residential Home, while in the education category, the Best School and Community Centre award was won by Waberthwaite Primary School.
