TWO mountain rescue teams were called out to save an injured man who crawled his way to find help.
Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team were called around 6.50pm on Saturday to help Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team who were called to reports of shouts for help near Symonds Knot on Scafell Pike .
It was believed that the calls came from a person who was Crag fast on Black Crag.
A spokesman from DFMRT said: "Notably, the first two groups that reported the shouting didn't go and investigate but just continued with their Three Peaks Challenge.
"Eventually a group of walkers located the man who had now crawled/ hopped from where he had had a tumble in Lords Rake to the path around Hollow Stones.
"The injured man had an ankle injury and a few other abrasions and bruises.
"He was treated and placed in a stretcher and carried down Brown Nose ridge to Wasdale Head."
