POLICE are investigating a number of burglaries which have taken place across Cumbria in the past year.

Officers are investigating a number of burglaries that have taken place throughout west and south Cumbria from 2018 to June this year.

Some of the areas targeted are Kendal, Askam-in-Furness, Dalton, Millom, Haverigg and Bootle.

These offences all have a similar method where the offender/offenders gain entry via an insecure door and make a search of the premises having no fear if occupants are in or not.

If disturbed the offender makes his excuses politely and leaves calmly.

This offender is always described as smartly dressed.

The offender(s) are targeting members of the community generally over the age of 70 years old.

Police would like to speak with the person pictured as part of their investigations.

These offences may or may not be linked, regardless of this members of the public are reminded to keep their doors locked and for everyone to remain vigilant in their local area.
