A POPULAR novelist and former soldier is coming to Barrow for a special talk about his life.

Andy McNab, the former SAS soldier and best-selling author of “Bravo Two Zero” (1993), the account of his capture and torture in Iraq in the first Gulf War, is coming to Barrow for a “An evening with” talk on October 17 at Hawcoat Park.

Mr McNab spent a number of years with the SAS, working on both covert and overt special operations worldwide, operations with police forces, anti-drug forces and western backed guerilla movements.

When he left the SAS in 1993, he was the British Army’s most highly decorated serving soldier.

The talk will look back at stories of Mr McNab’s time in the SAS. Attendees will also receive a signed book.
