A GROUP of star-studded celebs famous for the likes of Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Love Island took to the streets of Barrow and Ulverston for a luxury weekend away.

Coronation Street actor and Big Brother champion, Ryan Thomas came to the Lakes with model and The Only Way is Essex star, Lucy Mecklenburgh to celebrate his twin brothers', Scott and Adam's, birthday.

Scott rose to fame in 2016 after appearing on ITV's hit dating show, Love Island.

Whilst, brother Adam starred in the BBC drama Waterloo Road and Emmerdale between 2009 and 2018.

The celebs stayed at a luxury 12-bedroom lodge in Ulverston which featured a hot tub, sauna and bar.

The cohort headed up the iconic Hoad before heading to Clarke's Hotel for Sunday lunch in Barrow where manager, Alison Rawley, said the celebs were 'exceptionally nice.'

She said: "They seemed really nice and down to earth people.

"They weren't hard work to serve at all, they all just seemed super normal.

"Adam even stacked all the plates and cutlery together, he was really willing to help."

Ms Rawley said she did not recognise the group when they first entered the Rampside-based hotel until some of the customers began taking pictures with the stars.

She said: "Quite a few of the customers began taking pictures with them which made us all take notice.

"They were all really courteous and took time with each and every fan.

"They were all exceptionally nice and grateful for the attention, it was lovely to see them giving back."

Ms Rawley said she was 'flattered' the cohort of celebs chose Clarke's for their Sunday lunch.

"They all said the food and service was great which we were really pleased with," Ms Rawley said.

Ms Rawley hopes the visit encourages more celebs to visit South Cumbria.

"I think we need as much positive publicity as we can get down here," she said.

"It's great they chose Cumbria to spend the weekend."
