HUNDREDS of junior recruits are marching their way towards a Military career after passing their initial training at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate.
Nearly 650 teenagers recently graduated from the training establishment for 16-17 year olds in Penny Pot Lane, Harrogate.
The college runs two types of course – a 42-week long and a shorter 22-week course both of which train junior soldiers destined for a wide variety of Army careers.
Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer was the Inspecting Officer at the graduation parade who presented prizes and took the salute.
Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hall, Commanding Officer of the Army Foundation College, said the day was the pinnacle of the junior soldiers’ career so far and the presence of the Lt Gen Lorimer had been especially satisfying for them.
