A BURGLAR was stopped in his tracks by a homeowner after breaking in to a house.
Police said they were investigating the incident, which happened at a house in Dalton.
It took place in the Bowness Road area at 3pm on August 1.
Officers are trying to trace the man and have appealed to the public.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "A man was disrupted in the property by the occupants.
"The man is described as being approximately 5'8" tall, of medium build.
"He was seen to be wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and sunglasses, and spoke with a southern accent."
Anyone with any information, or who witnessed a male in the area who fits the description has been asked to contact police on 101 or email 101@cumbria.police.uk.
