FURNESS was hit hard by strong winds and rain this weekend forcing numerous community events to be cancelled.
Events such as the popular 'Barra Night Life' on Walney and Barrow Island Park funday were forced to postpone proceedings until next weekend due to the relentless poor weather.
The Met Office even issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across Furness and Cumbria for the whole of Saturday.
Cumbria County Council also warned residents of the risks of flash flooding as numerous roads across the county were flooded.
Cumbria Police also raised concerns as a result of the heavy rainfall on Friday night and into Saturday morning.
There main concern was directed towards several roads that had standing water on.
