The campaign aims to encourage museum-goers to cut out single use plastic.

Local street entertainer, Gary Bridgens, will join the campaign to reduce, reuse and recycle.

5 Life Leisure Barrow Park is hosting a summer rookie lifeguard course this Monday to help budding lifeguards develop life-saving first aid skills.

The five-day course is available to anyone aged between eight and 11 who can swim 100 metres.

7 A group of Furness-based writers who meet regularly to share stories and ideas is making their first appearance at a museum in Barrow.

‘A Write Bunch’ was a previously library-based literary group but now the team is venturing further afield.

The group will make their first appearance at The Dock Museum in Barrow performing ‘Troubadours Tales’ between 11am and 4pm.
