Parkrunners help raise funds in memory of Ulverston teen Alice Pyne who died of cancer

The sun shone for Millom parkrun's biggest recorded turn out, with an overall attendance of 69 runners, smashing the number of completed runs over the course to more than 4,500.

It was celebrations all round for Andy Burn who celebrated his 100th volunteer role with the group.

Doug Nesbitt landed the first spot in 19.40, followed by Peter Goddard in 20.31 and John Rodgers in 20.40.

Debbie Tyson was the first woman home in 26.12, followed by Hannah Nesbit in 26.35 and Rachel Read in 27.06.

Barrow parkrun's 403rd event turned purple in memory of Alice Pyne, who sadly lost her battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma six years ago.

Runners wore their purple tops, Alice's favourite colour, in memory of her.

Organisations gave a special thank you to everyone who donated cakes to the charity event.

All money raised will go towards Alice Escapes charity, which provides free family holidays for seriously and terminally ill children.

Securing the first spot this week was Karl Welborn who completed the course in 17.54

Second position went to Luca Messenger Jones who ran his 23rd parkrun in a time of 18.22, followed by Cameron Bell who set a new personal best in a time of 19.00.

Amy Singleton was the first woman home in 21.54, followed by Sarah Bouffler in 23.38 and Jennifer Beddoes who set a new personal best time of 24.42.

Oliver Gajdowski was Fell Foot parkrun's winner, who completed the course in 16.31.

Luke Bowen was awarded second place in 16.39 followed by James Bowen in 18.29.

Megan Lowery was the first woman home in a time of 21.13, followed by Helen Woodley in 21.48 and Renell Brennan in 22.27.

Almost 90 parkrunners turned up for Ulverston's weekly run.

Duncan Eley finished the course in 19.42, followed by Scott Bremner in 21.38 and Owain Clark in 21.47.

Lara Conway was the first woman home in 22.51, followed by Angela Brand-Barker in 24.27 and Clare Clarke in 27.25.
