A MAN who left a woman needing facial reconstruction after an unprovoked attack is to be sentenced this month.

David Anthony Brooksbank launched an unprovoked and cowardly attack on Billie Pickthall in the Cross Keys pub in Barrow in the early hours of Sunday March 17.

The 34-year-old suddenly, and without reason, launched a brutal attack on Miss Pickthall as she directed him to the outdoor smoking area.

Brooksbank hit Miss Pickthall in the face, causing her to fall to the floor face down before jumping over her and racing off down the street.

The attack left Miss Pickthall with four broken teeth and her nose was also broken in two places.

She ended up needing 17 stitches to her lower lip and facial reconstruction.

At South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court last month Brooksbank, of Longmynd Avenue, pleaded guilty to maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Brooksbank is due to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on August 23.
