TRAINS heading from Manchester Airport to Barrow this afternoon faced a series of cancellations.
Anyone heading by train from Manchester airport to Barrow this afternoon may find they are standing at the station for longer than their flight took.
Three successive services were cancelled between 3.33pm and 4.49pm.
The Northern Trains cancellations are said to be due to a shortage of train drivers.
The next train scheduled to run is at 5.10pm.
As well as this, any Furness folk enjoying a day at the seaside in Morecambe will find that their expected train has become a bus.
A rail replacement service has replaced all normal trains due to travel between Lancaster and Morecambe to the end of the day.
