The links with Artspace and the Sir John Barrow Cottage supports their Year 3 history curriculum as the school has also made a link with art by sketching in the garden on a history visit.

Storyteller Mr Kelly, said: “It was just wonderful to see the composure, talent and inventiveness of the children on July 13 as they performed their stories to a packed house in Ulverston’s Coronation Hall.

“It was great to see them enjoying telling their stories so much in front of a large audience.

“It’s been such a pleasure to work with Artspace and with these groups at Sir John Barrow School.

“It’s wonderful to see their composure, flair and creativity. A real privilege.”

The children all enjoyed the experience of storytelling and it has helped build their confidence and bring out their creative sides.

Year3 pupil, Max, said: “The past few weeks have been amazing.

“I’ve learned lots of new stuff like gesture levels, using actions and confidence.”

Another pupil, Katelyn voiced her love for the experience.

She said: “I had stage fright before but now I have conquered my fear.

“I hope the stories will never end.”

Jared said: “Ive learned lots of new things like gesture levels."
