WABERTHWAITE Primary School have had a trio of good news recently.
As well as achieving a rating of 'Good' from Ofsted, the school received a platinum award in the School Games and finished runners up in the national competition, Big Battery Hunt.
The platinum award was achieved by remaining at 'gold level' for five consecutive years, while the school were awarded a three-year MyMaths subscription, an iPad and £600 of school equipment vouchers as part of finishing runners up.
School head teacher, Sandra Cummings said: "As part of the Big Battery Hunt, children were asked to collect used batteries from their homes in the name of recycling.
"We're quite isolated as a school, so going forward we're creating a stronger understanding of diversity.
"We also achieved an outstanding level in Cumbria in Bloom.
"All staff are very proud of the children."
