FUNDS: (LtR) Lynne Whitton, Paul Loftus, and Paul Mossop raised £12,472 in sponsorship for this year's 'Fred Whitton Challenge, half of which has been donated to Cystic Fibrotis. Since founding Fred Whitton in 1999, the charity has raised £1million, following the loss of Mr Whitton secretary of The Lakes Road Club, in 1998, aged 50. The Great North Air Ambulance received £ 20,000.
A charity representative said: "Duddon & Furness Mountain Rescue received £ 20,000. "The North West Air Ambulance received £ 20,000, and Sue McDonald of Macmillan Nurses received £85,119, making it a magic £million over 20 years."
