WALKS: Students at Chetwynde School took their learning out of the classroom recently to take part in a whole-school sponsored walk on a 10 mile route to Rampside.
The whole of the primary and senior school – over 500 students – walked in groups accompanied by teachers, parents and volunteers. from ‘The Friends of Chetwynde ‘.
Colynne Hicks of Chetwynde School, said: "The weather was glorious and everyone completed the course, stopping only briefly at the half-way point outside ‘The Concle Inn’ for a drink or an ice-cream.
"On their return to school, the annual Summer Fayre was in full swing on the school field in Croslands Park.
"This was a true community project as students from the nearby Sixth Form College and Furness College were on hand to organise Sports activities for the younger pupils."
Mr Glenn Kaighan ( teacher ) accompanied pupils setting off on the 10-mile walk.
The Sponsored Walk and Summer Fayre which took place on June 28.
