IT was celebrations all round for this week’s parkrunners as milestones and personal bests were smashed.

Barrow parkrun was celebrating its 400th event, of which 184 eager runners took on the five kilometre course.

Of the 184, 13 runners were first timers and 25 runners recorded new personal bests, with representatives of nine different clubs took part.

Among this week’s runners Cameron Bell clocked up his 50th parkrun, while Gillian Thompson celebrated an impressive 250 runs.

Andrew Dorrian landed the first spot in 16.58, followed by Ryan Everett in 17.53 and Fraser Symon in18.38.

Jessica Bailey was the first woman home in 20.19, followed by Laura Brown in 20.37 and Amy Singleton in 22.36.

The group is gearing up for their next purple parkrun in which runners don their purple running gear, tutus and wigs on August 3.

The event is a great way to celebrate the memory of Alice Pyne and donating to Alice’s charity, Alice’s Escapes.

Millom parkrun also celebrated some milestones, with regular parkrunner Leanne Jackson completing her 150th parkrun with the group.

Duncan Roche also celebrated his 50th parkrun with the running group.

As well as this, 17 personal bests were achieved with Heather Singleton smashing her personal best by 90 seconds.

John Rodgers came out on top in a time of 20.04, followed by Daniel King in 20.06 and third place winner Lee Thompsett in 20.21

Leanne Jackson was the first woman home in 24.50, followed by Rachel Read in 26.28 and Holly Singleton in 29.57.

Fell Foot parkrun saw 303 runners take on the course this week.

William Richarson landed the top spot in 18.01, followed by Carl Krystek in 18.20 and David McNally in 18.31.

Bianca Dyer was the first woman home in 20.29, with Sharon Dixon just behind her in a time of 20.46 and Sophie Cowin landing the third spot in a time of 21.40.

Ford parkrun was cancelled again this week and will return as normal on July 20.

Parkrun is a free event open to all abilities.
