A WOMAN was jailed for assaulting a man after appearing in court.
Maryann Sedgwick, 29, of Beech Drive in Ulverston, appeared in the dock at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on July 10 charged with assaulting Pedro Cipriano by beating him in Barrow on June 25.
Magistrates sentenced her to six weeks in prison.
She was also told to pay £100 in compensation to the man.
The court heard she was serving a suspended prison sentence at the time the offence took place.
