CHILDREN from a Barrow school are looking to make it two years in a row for coming top of a school's reading challenge.
Last Monday, pupils from St Pius X Catholic School had a visit from a representative of the Barrow Library and Archives informing them of the Summer Reading Challenge.
The school previously came top for the Barrow area and are looking to make it two years in a row.
Any pupils wanting to take part in the challenge can sign up at a library.
The children need to read six books of their choice over the summer and receive awards and prizes as they go along.
Once they complete the challenge, they get a certificate and medal to show off to their new teacher in September.
They will also be entered into this year’s school competition.
The school with the highest percentage of participant will win some fantastic prizes for the school.
There will be additional awards given by the school in September.
A spokesperson from the school said: "Please post photographs on our Facebook page through the summer of your child completing the Summer Reading Challenge. Children will receive ClassDojo points for photos posted and 10 additional points for completing the challenge.
"Last year, St Pius X won for the local area. Can we do it again?"
