A POPULAR Barrow music venue is celebrating their first anniversary this week.

The Odd Frog is marking the milestone of their first year in business.

The bar has become one of the go to places in Barrow to see live music.

Over the year they have given more than 200 acts the opportunity to perform at the venue.

Now they are holding three evenings of live music with 10 acts performing from Thursday July 18 until Saturday July 20.

The acts performing are a range of bands, soloists and DJs, so there is something for everyone.

Music will be from 8pm until late each night.

Entry will be free all weekend and anyone who arrives between 7pm and 8pm will be given a free glass of Prosecco.

Odd Frog Co-director Jason Berry spoke about the venue's first year and the the event this week.

He said: "We've had so many amazing bands come through the doors over the last year,

"We obviously couldn't invite all of them but we wanted to make a really special night and celebrate the last year with everyone.

"The last year has been great, we've had some difficult times, but if it was easy everyone would do it.

"Live music is something that needs to be supported.

"For us it's about creating special moments for people and giving a platform for younger bands.

"We're delighted with the fantastic milestone and now feel like we're really starting to kick on."
