A MAN was convicted of drink driving after he appeared at court.

Michael James Barnard, 32, appeared before magistrates after being stopped by police driving a pickup truck on Cornmill Crossing on June 28.

South Cumbria Magistrates' Court heard on July 10 that Barnard, of Salthouse Road in Barrow, had 69 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He was fined £323, banned from the road for 20 months and told to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
