A DRUG driver has been banned from the road after police found cannabis in his system.

Magistrates heard how Thomas Marr-Smith, 26, was stopped by officers while driving in Ulverston's Urswick Road on December 28 2018.

Smith pleaded guilty to driving with the drug in his blood when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on July 10. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120 for the offence.

He was also told to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
