BARROW Comedy Club returns next week with another laughter making line up of hilarious comic talent.

Staged at the Duke of Edinburgh, Sam Hughes' Laughing Penguin Events brings some of the best names in stand up to the town on Thursday, July 18.

First in the side splitting spotlight will be Steff Todd, an award-winning comedian and impressionist who has made a name for herself with sizzling stand up, razor sharp one-liners and amazing celebrity impressions.

Hailing from Yorkshire and described as a "rising star in comedy" by The Mirror, Steff has gained worldwide attention with her viral impressions of stars from Reality TV and pop culture ranging from the Kardashians, Love Island, The X Factor and many more, making her one of the hottest emerging talents in comedy.

Mike Keenan is also on the bill: "bold, rude, political and clever…a joy to watch," according to Shoecake Comedy.

Headlining next week's show will be Tony Cowards, a rapid-fire gag merchant with an arsenal full of comedy crackers: "For laughs per minute he's tough to beat," says promoter Sam: "His quick wit and vast array of jokes has made him a sought after act and compere by comedy clubs and promoters across the UK and internationally.

"Something of a Twitter sensation, Tony's jokes turn up in all sorts of places, from greetings cards to The Times newspaper, even if you've never heard of him there's a good chance that you'll have laughed at one of his gags."

Overseeing the gig will be MC Rob Coleman, a semi-pro stand up for 10 years or so, closing, opening, middling and MCing his way around the country with a mix of beautifully written gags and stories. Away from comedy circles, Rob - who lives on a farm in rural Leicestershire - recently rowed across the Atlantic, becoming a world record holder in the process.

Meanwhile, tonight will be a barrel of laughs at The Comedy Mill at Ulverston with Laughing Penguin Events hosting another top gig featuring laughter makers, Mike Carter, Liam O'Brien, Alex Stringer and renowned character comedian Keith Carter headlining. MC for the night is Rob Coleman.
