MILLOM Post Office staff have issued a warning after several customers have complained about scams.
Homeowners, especially elderly residents, have been highlighted as most vulnerable to these scams.
A representative from the Post Office, said customers had complained they received calls from the Visa's fraud department on Wednesday and Thursday, asking residents to press ‘1’ to get more details.
The staff confirmed no bank name is mentioned during the phone call just that it is the Visa fraud team which is something a bank would never do.
A representative said: “Please advise your parents, neighbours, friends etc to not press ‘1’ and just to hang up as they go on to get your bank details from you.
“They appear to be targeting the elderly.”
