NEWBARNS Primary and Nursery School held a special vegan food day to promote healthier eating.
A total of 14 children brought along family members, who watched presentations on two chosen charities: St Mary’s Hospice and Christies Play-Therapy and learned what attending the school’s weekly vegan cookery classes entails.
Deputy head Fiona Wilson said: “We wanted to raise money for charities that do not carry out experiments on animals.”
