GUIDE: John Murphy next to Walney Channel
A SUPERFOOD is set to be the focus of a guided walk across the sands this weekend.
Expert John Murphy will lead around 40 walkers from Walney to Piel Island to pick the plant samphire on Saturday.
Walkers will meet at the King Alfred pub in Ocean Road Walney at 1pm before heading to Snab Point at 1.15pm.
The group will then head across to Piel Island to pick the herb at the best time of year to harvest it.
