RESIDENTS in Ulverston will get the chance to have their say on plans to extend the southern boundary of the Lake District National Park at an event tomorrow.

Friends of the Lake District charity has put forward plans to expand the national park towards the north of Ulverston.

Representatives from the national park authority and the charity will be at the Coronation Hall, to talk to residents about the plans.

It takes place in the Supper Room at the County Road venue tomorrow at 7pm.

The event follows a number of similar discussions, 'Community Conversations', to have taken place at Millom, Grange, Lowick and Broughton.

The proposed expansion of the southern boundary of the national park incorporates parts of the Cartmel and Furness peninsula and the area between Silecroft and Grange.

The national park increase by around six per cent under the proposals.
