The £500,000 revamp of County Square, Ulverston, was awarded the Business and Economy Award in the North West Market Town Awards.
A terraced house at Stanley Street, Ulverston, was offered for sale at £144,950. A detached house at Fell View, Swarthmoor, was£215,000.
Pupils from Thorncliffe School, Barrow, presented a show called Over the Rainbow to celebrate 30 years of education at a school which was to close and become part of the proposed Furness Academy from September.

A public meeting was called by the National Trust about future uses for the 14th century Dalton castle.
Students from the John Dalton College of Technology in Manchester visited Millom's old ironworks as part of an industrial archaeology project.
