A MILLOM man has been given a suspended jail sentence after failing to pay a £1,397.50 court fine.
Darren Edward Nagar, of Croft Close, admitted failing to pay the fine when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on Monday.
The 38-year-old was handed a fine of £1,437.50 back in April 2017.
The court heard he had only paid £50 in more than two years.
He was given a 33-day suspended sentence and ordered to begin making payments.
Magistrates agreed he could pay at a rate of £10 per fortnight with the first payment to be made by July 8.
