IMPROVEMENTS to the A590 will be the focus of a drop-in session tomorrow.

Highways England is hosting a public information event to listen to the views of residents and road users.

It is being held at the Gilpin Bridge Inn near Levens between 1pm and 7pm.

Ulverston Councillor James Airey, who led a delegation of community figures to London to lobby transport secretary Chris Grayling on road improvements, earlier this year, encouraged people to turn up.

Cllr Airey, who leads the Conservative group on Cumbria County Council, said: “Resolving traffic bottlenecks and improving safety along the A590 will help bring more jobs and prosperity to our area by creating a thriving economic corridor that serves residents and businesses. I’m delighted that Highways England are going to be listening to local people’s views on Thursday and hope local residents and road users will come along and have their say.”
