A MAN has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after appearing in court charged with assaulting a woman.
Mark David Johnson, of Low Cliff in Barrow, was said to have committed the offence on March 23.
The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in Barrow.
The defendant was ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work.
He was also told to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £500 in court costs.
