A MAN was injured in a crash on the Coast Road on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters and an ambulance were called around 3pm to Rampside after a collision between a car and a bike.

Cumbria police were also called to the incident around the same time to report to the two-vehicle road traffic collision.

The incident involved a Ford Fiesta and motorcycle.

The driver of the Ford was a 39-year-old man from Barrow was uninjured.

The driver of the motorbike, a 34-year-old man from Barrow, suffered injuries not believed to be life changing.

Firefighters gave first aid until handing the casualty into the care of paramedics, which arrived afterwards.

The biker was taken to Furness General Hospital.

Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.
